HYGIENE/HANDLING/CONTROL

Once a year follow-up checks are recommended for ALL contact lens users, please bring the care products used and the container with you. This is sometimes necessary to find the cause of a problem. Contact lenses should feel good on the eye and you should see well! - Agreed?

If you show the following symptom(s), a quick visit should be carried out: Blurred vision, inexplicable reddening of one or both eyes or the front part of the eye, watery eyes with or without secretion, increased sensitivity to light and foreign body sensation.

Contact lenses should NOT be used if you have an eye infection or other eye conditions.

Before putting on or taking off the contact lenses, wash your hands and dry them with a clean cloth!

A contact lens case should NEVER be used as long as a toothbrush, maximum three months!

Often underestimated: My care product "immerdasda" from the "shampoo street" can definitely be the reason for your problems. WATCH OUT! on the ingredients - your body - your house! BAC=benzalkonium chloride or thiomersal is no longer used in high-quality care products. Bisphenol is also questionable. Although these are bactericidal and fungicidal, they accumulate in the lens material. It loosens the cell structures of the epithelium in the eye and destroys the lipid film in the tear fluid.

Medicines can cause changes in the tear film and affect the tolerability of the contact lens.

You must notify us of any change in comfort, such as excessive tearing, redness of the eye, deterioration in vision, or allergic reactions. If this is not done, complications or illness can lead to damage!

For users of stable/flexible contact lenses:

Maintain hygiene discipline, dirty lenses and cases are the leading cause of complications. Rinsing stable contact lenses with tap water is perfectly legitimate. The prerequisite is drinking water quality and subsequent storage in disinfecting storage liquid. Store the lenses in the sanitizing storage solution overnight or at least four hours. Do not rinse the lenses with tap water immediately before insertion. Before removing the lenses, you should drip a drop of wetting solution into the lower conjunctival sac, now the lenses can be removed from the eye much more easily.

If a visual aid is entered in the driver's license, the official driver's license eye test must be carried out again after the fitting of orthokeratological contact lenses. You can then apply for a new driver's license. It is the responsibility of the lens user to have a driving license eye test performed again after stopping this type of correction.

For users of soft contact lenses:

Soft lenses dehydrate up to 20% during the day, which impairs vision and wearing comfort.

NEVER rinse soft contact lenses with tap water! Water and aquatic environment MAY contain microorganisms that can cause serious infections and vision loss including blindness. Anyone who uses lenses while swimming or bathing should then dispose of this pair of lenses. The risk of infection, mostly infectious keratitis, is demonstrably higher in users of long-term contact lenses=Night&Day than in day wearers. Never wear yours beyond the recommended period!

After wearing, replacement contact lenses must be cleaned manually, usually with an all-in-one solution. If necessary, additionally with a concentrated cleaning solution. To do this, the lens is gently rubbed between two fingers or in the palm of the hand. Gently rub the contact lens from the center to the edge. The foreign substances that are no longer firmly attached are removed by the subsequent rinsing. Then place the lenses in the appropriate bowls of the container and fill up with solution, screw on the container lid. For complete disinfection, leave the lenses in the case for at least six hours. Throw away an opened bottle of contact lens solution 90 days after first use! Dispose of the container as often as possible, it is a source of infection and inflammation.

The use of medication always poses a risk, package insert!
